We hope you have a lot of fun with your BrickMap, as much fun as we had designing and creating it. To ensure your fun lasts as long as possible, you can extend the lifetime of your new BrickMap by taking good care of it.
These tips might help with that, and other stuff.
Unpacking
Roll the BrickMap out and put something heavy on all sides and corners of the map; books, or your latest LEGO® builds, might suffice 😜 Leave the weight there for about 15 minutes (no exact science, can differ) and the BrickMap should restore itself to its former ‘flat’ glory. It will do that without the weight, but that would take longer. You can ofcourse play on your BrickMap while it restores itself. Roll out, have fun!
Slight smell
Like a lot of things new, a car for instance, your BrickMap might come with a slight smell. In this case it's a bit weird, because some people might smell it, while others won't. This is nothing to worry about, it is the ink (or a good nose). The smell will fade away in time.
Uuhm, where do I keep it
Your BrickMap comes in a responsible sturdy cardboard tube for safe travels. Not only that, it will also keep your BrickMap safe when you want to store it. Roll up your BrickMap, not too tight. Then Roll it in the protective foam. Put it in the tube, don't force it, and gently shake/roll the tube until the BrickMap ‘unfolds’ and sits nicely against the outside of the tube and hardly moves. Store it standing up, to see the name of the BrickMap on the top lid.
Oops, it’s wet, or dirty
Your BrickMap is water resistant, but naturally it’s always best to keep it dry. If it gets wet, or has dust on it, dry or clean it with a soft dry cloth or towel. If you drop your soft drink or coffee on it, first clean your BrickMap with water and then dry it so it doesn’t become sticky.
Do not scrub, and never use cleaning solvents.
It’s near a window in the sun
Your BrickMap is UV resistant, but we wouldn’t depend on it, and we will not guarantee it. The sun is propably the most powerful thing out there! Therefore naturally it’s always best to keep it out of direct sunlight to keep the colors and shape like it should be.
Sharp objects do scratch
Your BrickMap is scratch resistant, but like everything only up to a certain level. So don’t depend on it, and don’t tempt fate. Naturally it’s always best to keep sharp objects away from the BrickMap. Don’t walk on your BrickMap, and don’t move sharp bricks from one side to another with force, simply pick up your sharp builds, or use LEGO® ‘Slide Shoe Round 2x2' under your builds to easy and safely move items around on the BrickMap. Order them via pick-a-brick on lego.com.
And.. a serious Warning!
Your BrickMap is no sandwich, and your kids, sister, brother, friends, or anyone else, are no sausages! How ever tiny the chance of suffocation might be, and how tempting it may look;
NEVER EVER roll a human in a BrickMap..
serious! it’s dangerous.. your BrickMap might get hurt.
